Job summary

Copeland in Sidney, OH is seeking an HVAC/R Mechanical Technician for the third shift. You will work with product and research engineers to design, develop, and qualify compressors for HVAC/R systems, following lab test instructions and using precision equipment.

The role requires a high school diploma with 1–3 years of experience (or equivalent) and basic mechanical, HVAC, or electrical skills. You will setup tests, operate calorimeters and data acquisition systems, and help maintain the lab.

Qualifications

• High school diploma plus 1–3 years of experience, or equivalent
• Basic mechanical, HVAC, and/or electrical/electronic skills
• Troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities
• Proficient with Microsoft Office

Responsibilities

• Follow lab test instructions to performance test compressors
• Set up and install compressors and test equipment
• Operate lab test equipment and data acquisition systems
• Set up variable speed drives for testing
• Fabricate test fixtures and controls for non-standard tests
• Review data for compliance with test data standards
• Maintain and upkeep the lab
