Job summary

Copeland in Sidney, OH is seeking an HVAC/R Mechanical Technician for the third shift to support test labs and compressor development.

You will set up and install compressors, operate test equipment, review data, and help maintain lab facilities while collaborating with engineering teams.

This role requires a high school diploma with 1–3 years of experience; a shift differential of $3.50 per hour applies.

Qualifications

• High school diploma plus 1–3 years of experience or equivalent combination
• Basic mechanical, HVAC, and/or electrical/electronic skills
• Troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities
• Basic computer skills and MS Office proficiency

Responsibilities

• Follow engineering laboratory test instructions to performance test variable speed compressors
• Set up and install compressors and test electronics
• Operate lab test equipment (calorimeters, mass flow stands, data acquisition systems)
• Set up variable speed drives for testing
• Fabricate test fixtures and controls for non-standard tests
• Review test data for standards compliance
• Maintain and upkeep the lab facilities
