Job summary

State of Connecticut DMHAS seeks a Qualified Craft Worker (HVACR) to perform highly skilled HVACR tasks, install, repair, and troubleshoot complex systems, monitor controls, and plan work with minimal supervision. This role is based at Connecticut Valley Hospital in Middletown and requires compliance with safety and industry standards.

Qualifications

• Four years of HVACR experience (minimum).
• Two years of the general experience must be in skilled HVACR trades.
• Graduation from a vocational/technical school may substitute for two years of experience.
• Connecticut HVAC license (preferred) and EPA 608 certification (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Performs highly skilled HVACR tasks on heating, ventilation, air conditioning and refrigeration systems.
• Operates, maintains, repairs and installs complex HVACR equipment including Freon and chilled water.
• Monitors computerized control systems and checks airflow and system performance.
• Plans and estimates materials and work with minimal supervision.
