Job summary

The State of Connecticut, Department of Mental Health and Addiction Services, is seeking a qualified Qualified Craft Worker (HVACR) to join the CVH Plumbing HVAC Maintenance team in Middletown, CT. The role focuses on highly skilled HVACR work, system maintenance, and repairs in a hospital setting, with a 1st shift schedule and 37.5 hours per week.

Applicants should have extensive HVACR experience, be able to plan and execute tasks with minimal supervision, and meet the division's minimum

Qualifications

• Four (4) years of experience in HVACR tasks.
• Two (2) years of the General Experience must have been performing skilled HVACR trades.
• Substitutions allowed: Graduation from a vocational or technical school may substitute for two years of general experience.
• Connecticut HVAC license and EPA certification are preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs highly skilled HVACR work on heating, ventilation, cooling, and refrigeration systems.
• Operates, maintains, repairs, installs, modifies and assembles HVAC equipment and systems which may use Freon or chilled water.
• Determines required cooling capacity and interprets psychrometric charts; monitors computerized control systems; and performs related diagnostics.
• Plans estimates of time, personnel, and materials; maintains records and may work independently with minimal supervision.
