Job summary

AAON in Memphis, TN seeks a welder to perform routine welding on HVAC units per blueprints and standards. The role includes setting up and maintaining welding equipment, welding in multiple positions, inspecting welds, and using various hand and power tools.

Candidates should have a high school diploma or GED and 1–3 years of welding experience; lean manufacturing exposure is a plus. Must be able to pass welding tests and work in a manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• 1-3 years’ experience as a welder.
• Prior work experience with Lean Manufacturing preferred.
• Ability to read and use a tape measure for precise measurements.

Responsibilities

• Executes routine welding tasks on HVAC units.
• Set up and maintain welding machine (tip, liner, changes) and weld vertical, horizontal, and overhead.
• Inspect welds for cracks, burn through and weld spatter.
• Use basic hand, electric, cordless, and pneumatic tools as required.
• Grind and clean areas where required.
• Stay current in TPM and basic mechanical adjustments on all equipment.
• Follow hazardous waste disposal and fire prevention procedures.
