Johnson Controls is seeking an HVAC Truck Based Helper in Capitol Heights, MD. This union position supports mechanical service and repair, providing customers with efficient resolutions and quality service on-site.

You will work under a labor agreement, perform basic troubleshooting, and help maintain building systems to run efficiently while following safety standards and company policies.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent, or currently enrolled in HVAC certificate program.
• Familiarity with HVAC equipment (residential or light commercial).
• Ability to perform general building maintenance.
• Current driver's license and reliable transportation.
• Good verbal and written communication skills.
• Willingness to receive on-the-job training.
• EPA Refrigeration certification a plus.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot, performs maintenance, and resolves equipment issues.
• Responds to basic service calls and communicates progress to customers and contractors.
• Provide recommendations and quotes to improve facility efficiency and upsell where appropriate.
• Maintain clear documentation of service performed and parts used.
• Operate with safety and quality standards as guided by the employer.

Provide our customers with the highest level of service to solve building inefficiencies and resolve service related items. As a trusted advisor to our customers you will provide solutions and outcomes at the time of service **How you will do it**Probationary Employees shall perform mechanical equipment service and all other work coming under the labor agreement assigned by the Employer, limited only by their capabilities as determined by the Employer, and shall perform all assigned work under the direction of the Employer. Troubleshoot, performs maintenance, and resolve equipment issues. Responds to basic calls for service. Keeps JCI, contractors, and the customer informed of job progress and issues as needed. Provide recommendations and solutions to ensure facility is running efficiently to include upselling opportunities.
