Johnson Controls is seeking an HVAC Controls Systems Technician Team Leader to guide field technicians in Indianapolis, IN. You will plan monthly technician routes and support profitable service delivery while maintaining high customer satisfaction.
You will coach teams, collaborate with sales, and ensure HVAC standards are followed across operations. The role requires leadership, coordination, and a commitment to continuous improvement.

Under general supervision, the HVAC Truck Based Controls Technician Team Leader oversees the day-to-day activities of the field technician team, plans monthly technician routes, and supports the performance of the assigned business. This role balances customer satisfaction, safety compliance, and financial goals while helping ensure consistent service delivery and strong operational results.
You will lead with accountability, safety, and integrity, ensuring the team delivers dependable results for customers and the business.
You will stay close to the work, remove obstacles quickly, and keep focus on the activities that most affect service quality, profitability, and customer satisfaction.
You will coach consistently through monthly one-on-ones, clear performance expectations, operational reviews, and development plans.
You will use business plans, branch workforce management tools, and operational data to track performance and make practical improvements.
You will work closely with sales, branch, and region resources to support opportunities, surface market potential, and align field execution with business direction.
You will build a culture of continuous improvement by reviewing processes, auditing effectiveness, and making timely changes when performance can be improved.
You will win as one team by collaborating across functions, sharing standard processes, and valuing different perspectives in decision-making.
You will ensure contractual obligations are completed and that HVAC standards are followed consistently across the assigned business.
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Business, or equivalent working experience.
A minimum of five years of progressive operational experience in HVAC services.
Three years of experience in a management role with responsibility for the productivity and development of others.
Experience supervising teams, managing field execution, and supporting customer-facing service operations.
Strong communication, coaching, and cross-functional coordination skills.
Ability to analyze operational performance and recommend improvements that support safety, quality, and financial outcomes.
Eight years’ experience in an operational HVAC role with leadership responsibilities.
Johnson Controls Metasys experience.
