Job summary

Minnehaha County seeks an HVAC Technician to join our facilities team, maintaining and repairing HVAC systems across buildings in Sioux Falls, SD. You’ll troubleshoot, read blueprints, and ensure safety and efficiency while working with a dedicated team.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED plus four years of work experience in equipment repair, HVAC, or electrical.
• Two years of vocational school may substitute for two years of experience.

Responsibilities

• Perform skilled installation, troubleshooting, and repair of commercial HVAC systems.
• Service and maintain boilers, chillers, rooftop units, air handling units, VAV boxes, pneumatic and DDC controls.
• Diagnose and repair electrical components related to HVAC systems, including motor controls and switchgear.
• Perform basic plumbing tasks related to HVAC (e.g., soldering copper pipe, replacing valves and fittings).
• Read blueprints and technical diagrams; ensure compliance with codes and safety standards.
• Collaborate with a skilled team to support building comfort, efficiency, and system reliability.
