DescriptionHunton Services, a division of the Hunton Group, is seeking an HVAC Technician – Level 2 to support our team in Childress, Texas. This position performs preventive maintenance, standard repairs, inspections, and operational support for HVAC and critical cooling equipment in a mission-critical environment. The selected candidate will execute assigned work orders, document completed work accurately, respond to equipment issues, and escalate complex conditions to senior technicians or site leadership as appropriate.Come work for an industry leader that has been recognized both locally and nationally as one of the Top Places to Work !Key ResponsibilitiesPerform scheduled preventive maintenance, inspections, and assigned work orders on commercial HVAC and critical cooling equipment.Respond to service calls and equipment alarms in a timely manner to support continuous data center operations.Troubleshoot and complete standard mechanical and electrical repairs on airside and waterside HVAC systems within the technician's demonstrated skill level.Support maintenance and repair of equipment such as air-handling units, pumps, fans, motors, variable frequency drives, cooling towers, and related components.Use gauges, meters, manufacturer literature, drawings, and established procedures to evaluate equipment performance.Assist senior technicians with complex diagnostics, major repairs, equipment startup, commissioning, and vendor-supported activities.Verify equipment operation following maintenance or repair and promptly report unresolved or recurring conditions.Inspect equipment conditions, identify deficiencies, and communicate findings and recommended next steps to site leadership.Maintain accurate service records, work-order notes, equipment histories, readings, and parts usage in the designated maintenance system.Coordinate work with site operations, controls personnel, vendors, and other technicians to minimize operational disruption.Follow site access, change-management, lockout/tagout, safety, environmental, and customer-specific procedures.Maintain tools, test instruments, company equipment, and assigned work areas in a safe and orderly condition.Participate in shift coverage, after-hours response, overtime, weekends, and emergency support as required by site operations.QualificationsQualifications and Requirements2-5 years of commercial or industrial HVAC service experience; data center or other mission-critical facility experience is preferred.Experience performing preventive maintenance and standard repairs on commercial HVAC equipment.Working knowledge of basic refrigeration, mechanical, electrical, airside, and waterside HVAC principles.Ability to use standard HVAC hand tools, gauges, meters, and diagnostic equipment safely.Ability to read basic wiring diagrams, equipment documentation, and manufacturer instructions.EPA Section 608 certification required; Universal Certification is preferred.Technical school, apprenticeship, OEM training, or industry certifications are preferred.Ability to work independently on routine assignments and recognize when escalation is required.Professional communication, documentation, organization, and customer-service skills.Basic proficiency with mobile devices and Microsoft Office applications; ability to learn required work-order and site systems.Ability to comply with Hunton safety standards and all applicable OSHA, EPA, customer, and site requirements.Valid driver's license with a safe driving record and ability to satisfy applicable background and pre-employment screening requirements.Flexibility to work assigned shifts, overtime, weekends, holidays, or on-call coverage as required to support continuous operations.Work Environment and Physical RequirementsThis position requires the physical ability to safely perform the essential functions of the job in a mission-critical data center and associated commercial or industrial environments.
