Job summary

The Lodge at Torrey Pines, part of Evans Hotels, is seeking an HVAC Technician to maintain and repair refrigeration equipment and HVAC systems for our resort in La Jolla, CA. This full-time role requires dedication to safety and quality service.

You will perform preventative maintenance, respond to service calls, keep detailed repair records, and comply with EPA/OSHA rules, with weekend/holiday availability as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• HVAC certification required.
• 3–12 months of relevant experience or training.
• Weekend/holiday availability required.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stay on feet for extended periods.

Responsibilities

SUMMARY

The HVAC Technician ("Técnico/a de HVAC") is responsible for preventative maintenance and repair of refrigeration equipment and HVAC systems as needed.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

• Performs preventative maintenance on equipment as assigned.
• Responds to and repairs guest and coworker service calls, needs, and or complaints in a timely and professional manner.
• Keeps up-to-date and accurate records of repairs, maintenance, and refrigerant usage of all equipment.
• Conforms to all EPA and OSHA regulations.
• Drives a vehicle to either on-site or off-site locations to inspect, repair or maintain equipment and/or facilities, as directed.
• Provides assistance during emergencies by operating floodlights and generators, placing flares, and driving needed vehicles.
• Performs additional duties and responsibilities as directed by the leadership team.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• At least 3-12 months of relevant experience and/or training. If no educational background, at least 1 year.
• Previous similar position in a hotel, or similar business entity preferred.
• Availability to work on weekends and holidays is required.
• Ability to always maintain a friendly, professional, team-oriented, positive demeanor and diplomatic attitude, especially under stress or challenges.
• Ability to stand, kneel, squat for prolonged periods of time, up to and including, the entire shift and lift up to 50 lbs.
• Experience in dealing with the public is preferred, such as retail cashier, food industry service, guest service with public contacts, etc
• Must be a certified HVAC technician.

The following position will be filled in accordance with the process set forth in California Labor Code Section 2810.8 and San Diego Municipal Code 311.0101 et. seq.
