Atlanta Public Schools is seeking an HVAC Technician to perform routine repairs and maintenance on HVAC systems across district facilities, including air distribution equipment, digital controls, and water systems. You will troubleshoot, repair, and install components using Trane and Johnson Controls interfaces.

The role requires licensing, EPA refrigerant handling, and experience with commercial equipment.

Qualifications

High School Diploma or GED required.
HVAC trade school or associate degree preferred.
Valid Georgia Driver’s License; must comply with transportation regulation.
Universal EPA refrigerant handling certification required.
3rd class NIULPE or NATE certification OR Restricted HVAC license required.
2 years experience with commercial equipment, chiller, air handler, hot water heater.

Responsabilités

Troubleshoot and repair building distribution systems including low pressure steam and air handling equipment.
Install and repair HVAC equipment and related systems; insulate, pull pumps, compressors, chillers, and piping as needed.
Perform preventive maintenance and major component replacement in coordination with energy management staff.
Monitor and adjust system set points using remote links to controls (Trane/Johnson Controls).
Seasonal overhauls and guide teams during heating/cooling transitions.
Maintain safety, documentation, and inventory records.
