Job summary

Socket.dev is seeking an experienced HVAC Technician to join our Atlanta service team, handling diagnostics, repairs, preventative maintenance, and optimization across large commercial facilities. You will tackle complex issues on systems including chillers and VAV/VRF units, delivering high-quality service with a safety-first mindset.

The role requires EPA 608 certification and 3+ years of commercial HVAC experience, with the ability to work independently and mentor apprentices.

Qualifications

• EPA 608 Universal Certification required.
• Minimum 3+ years of commercial HVAC experience with exposure to heavy chiller systems.
• Strong electrical troubleshooting across low and high voltage systems.
• Able to work independently with limited supervision.
• Valid driver\'s license in good standing.
• Ability to lift 50 lbs and operate in mechanical rooms, rooftops, and confined spaces.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair commercial HVAC systems (VAV, VRF, RTUs, chillers, etc.).
• Commission and start up chiller and controls systems, optimizing efficiency.
• Identify and resolve electrical, mechanical, and controls-related issues.
• Interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams, and control schematics.
• Keep accurate, timely documentation of all service work, repairs, and recommendations.
• Communicate clearly with customers about system conditions, findings, and next steps.
• Adhere to all safety requirements, EPA standards, and internal company policies.
• Provide guidance and mentorship to apprentices and junior technicians when applicable.
