Job summary

Fortis Industries is seeking a full-time HVAC Technician in the Lubbock, West Texas area. The role focuses on inspection, preventive maintenance, and repair of building mechanical systems, with emphasis on teamwork and efficiency. Travel to other contract locations may be required.

The candidate will maintain HVAC, water treatment, and emergency generator systems while documenting activities and coordinating with vendors. Strong communication and MS Office skills are essential.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • 2+ years of experience in operations & maintenance of building systems including HVAC, fire suppression, environmental, and water treatment procedures.
  • Proficiency with MS Office and strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Understand contractual requirements and assist in creating schedules.
  • Operate timekeeping and logging (Tsheets) for meal breaks.
  • Maintain, repair and ensure HVAC and other mechanical systems are in proper working condition.
  • Order replacement items and coordinate with vendors for repairs.
  • Submit receipts weekly to the corporate office for processing.
  • Prepare reports and conduct onsite inspections for quality and compliance.

Job description

Overview

Remote Status: On-Site. We are interviewing for a full-time HVAC Technician in the Lubbock West Texas area. The HVAC Technician is responsible for the inspection and control of preventive maintenance and repair of building and facility mechanical systems and related services. The technician must foster teamwork, cooperation, and results while monitoring efficiency, productivity, and fiscally responsible operations. This position may require travel to other locations within the contract as required.

Responsibilities
  • Understand contractual requirements and assist in creating schedules.
  • Utilize timekeeping and log in/out for lunch using Tsheets.
  • Work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining organization.
  • Maintain, repair, and ensure all equipment is in proper working condition, including HVAC systems, water treatment systems, emergency generator systems, and other mechanical systems.
  • Order replacement items through purchasing and coordinate with vendors for repairs to existing equipment.
  • Submit receipts weekly to the corporate office for processing.
  • Perform additional duties as required within the scope of contractual responsibilities.
  • Issue reports and summaries as required.
  • Maintain appropriate records and statistics for administrative and regulatory purposes.
  • Resolve client concerns, conduct follow-up calls, and perform onsite inspections for satisfactory job performance.
  • Create estimates as needed. Familiar with RS Means.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • 2+ years of experience in the Operations & Maintenance of building systems including HVAC, Fire Suppression, Environmental (including Oil/Water Separator Servicing), and Water Treatment procedures.
  • Proficiency with MS Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Project); excellent written and oral communication skills.

  • EPA Universal or EPA I and EPA III
  • Medical, Vision, Flexible Spending, Life, Long and Short Term Disability, Supplemental Life for spouse & child, and Critical Illness Insurance
Pay

Pay Range: $24.62 per hour plus $5.55 per hour Health and Welfare up to 40 hours per week (these monies are used for benefits).
