As an HVAC Technician at Nemacolin, you help safeguard the comfort, reliability, and operational continuity of a complex luxury resort environment. Through advanced troubleshooting, repair, preventative maintenance, and technical problem-solving, you keep HVAC systems, commercial appliances, water and wastewater equipment, and related building systems performing at their best across guest rooms, commercial kitchens, condominiums, boiler rooms, and other resort facilities. Your expertise helps protect the guest experience, support efficient resort operations, and ensure critical systems are ready whenever they are needed.
What You Will Create
- Create consistent comfort and reliability across the resort by maintaining, troubleshooting, repairing, and advancing the operation of HVAC systems, commercial appliances, water and wastewater equipment, and related building systems across guest-facing and operational environments
- Turn technical information into effective solutions by interpreting schematics, wiring diagrams, blueprints, working drawings, and technical materials to diagnose issues, determine appropriate repair methods, establish work sequences, and complete repairs to established specifications
- Build greater reliability into resort operations through thorough inspections, preventative maintenance, equipment adjustments, and participation in the development and implementation of maintenance programs designed to identify concerns early and extend the life and performance of critical systems
- Bring technical ingenuity to complex maintenance needs by designing, fabricating, modifying, and repairing structures, equipment, and miscellaneous articles, while recommending practical modifications or requirement changes that improve the successful completion of assigned work
- Bring sound judgment and accountability to every project by evaluating labor, time, and material requirements; maintaining appropriate electrical and HVAC inventory; documenting related records; and inspecting completed maintenance and repair work for quality and compliance with specifications
- Protect operational continuity when unexpected needs arise by responding to emergency calls, including after-hours assignments, and using vehicles, hand tools, power tools, specialty equipment, and sound technical judgment to restore building and equipment functionality safely and efficiently

Qualifications
- Completion of a technical or vocational program in HVAC, refrigeration, electrical, mechanical systems, or a related trade, and at least three years of relevant maintenance or HVAC experience; or
- Completion of a technical or vocational program and attainment of Maintenance Technician Level I in HVAC or a related trade, with demonstrated progression through increasingly complex maintenance responsibilities; or
- Five or more years of progressive experience in HVAC, commercial equipment, general building maintenance, or a closely related skilled trade, with demonstrated proficiency in troubleshooting, repair, and preventative maintenance; or
- A combination of education, technical training, certifications, and progressively responsible experience that demonstrates the knowledge and practical skills necessary to successfully perform the essential functions of the position
- One year of experience as a Maintenance Technician III, HVAC Technician, or in an equivalent skilled-trade role preferred
- Working knowledge of HVAC systems, commercial appliances, water and wastewater equipment, electrical systems, and related building systems
- Ability to read and interpret schematics, wiring diagrams, blueprints, working drawings, maintenance manuals, and other technical materials
- Ability to safely and effectively operate vehicles, telephones, hand tools, power tools, specialty tools, and related equipment required to perform assigned work
- Must be at least 18 years of age and able to speak English fluently
- Ability to work varying shifts, including evenings, weekends, holidays, and emergency call-back assignments
- Ability to lift, push, pull, and carry items weighing 50 to 150 pounds
- Ability to stand for approximately 80% of the scheduled shift, operate equipment for approximately 20%, kneel for approximately 50%, bend for approximately 50%, climb for approximately 50%, and drive for approximately 10% of the scheduled shift
