Job summary

SPX Technologies, within HVAC Cooling, is seeking an HVAC Systems Modeling Engineer to develop, validate, and apply analytical models that evaluate performance, water consumption, energy usage, and lifecycle economics of cooling towers and related thermal systems.

You will build simulation tools, work with data centers and industrial facilities worldwide, use historical weather data, and provide data-driven insights to improve product selection, system design, and operating efficiency.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience involving HVAC systems, thermal systems, energy analysis, or engineering simulation.
• Strong knowledge of thermodynamics, heat transfer, fluid mechanics, psychrometrics, and HVAC systems.
• Experience developing engineering models, simulations, or analytical tools.
• Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Thermal Systems Modeling & Performance Analysis.
• Develop and validate analytical and physics-based models of cooling towers and associated thermal systems.
• Simulate system performance across varying climates, loads, and operating conditions.
• Develop annual water and energy consumption analyses using ASHRAE weather data.
• Evaluate sustainability and efficiency metrics, including WUE and PUE.
• Perform optimization studies involving equipment selection, system controls, and operating strategies.
• Analyze data to validate and improve model accuracy; develop tools, dashboards, and automated calculation methods.
