Job summary

SPX Cooling Technologies in Overland Park, KS, seeks an HVAC Systems Modeling Engineer to develop, validate, and apply analytical models of cooling towers and thermal systems for mission-critical applications, including data centers.

You will collaborate with Product Management, Sales, Engineering, and Global Technical Services to optimize performance, energy use, water consumption, and lifecycle economics, using tools like Python, MATLAB, EnergyPlus, and CFD in diverse climates worldwide.

Qualifications

5+ years of experience involving HVAC or thermal systems and engineering simulation.
Strong knowledge of thermodynamics, heat transfer, fluid mechanics, and HVAC systems.
Experience developing engineering models, simulations, or analytical tools.
Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

Thermal systems modeling and performance analysis across climates and loads.
Develop and validate analytical models of cooling towers and related systems.
Simulate performance and analyze water/energy consumption with ASHRAE data.
Support engineering tools, databases, dashboards, and decision-making processes.
Collaborate across Sales, Product Management, Engineering and Global Technical Services.
