What You Will Do:

The Test Technician will be part of the Engineering Lab team within the Unitary Products Group (UPG) at Johnson Controls. This division designs, tests, manufactures, and assembles heating, ventilation, and air conditioning equipment for the light commercial and residential markets. This is an opportunity to work in our brand new, state-of-the-art laboratory!

We have 1st, 2nd, and 3rd shift positions available, with shift differentials for 2nd and 3rd shifts!

How you will do it:

• Prepare and install test units in the test facility to simulate field installation conditions, including duct, electrical, and gas connections, and data acquisition setups.
• Conduct safety and certification tests according to engineering instructions and standards.
• Analyze test data and modify test units accordingly.
• Operate computer software to run tests and collect data.
• Maintain safety procedures and a clean work environment.

What we look for:

Required Qualifications:

• 2-year degree, HVAC license, or equivalent education and experience
• Minimum of 5+ years of relevant experience
• Knowledge of wiring diagrams, controls, instrumentation, troubleshooting, and prototype modifications
• Ability to analyze data and make informed decisions
• Ability to lift equipment, compressors, units, motors, and sheet metal parts
