Job summary

Carteret County Public Schools is seeking an HVAC Mechanic I to perform installation, maintenance, and repair of ventilation, air-conditioning, and environmental control systems at the Beaufort site.

The role requires a HS diploma or GED; two years' related experience; NC HVAC journeyman’s card and EPA certification preferred. Valid NC driver’s license is required; position reports to the Director of Facility Support Operations and HVAC Supervisor.

Qualifications

• HS diploma or GED with technical training in mechanical systems preferred.
• Minimum of two years in installation, maintenance, and repair of ventilation andAC/environmental control systems preferred.
• Valid North Carolina HVAC Journeyman’s card preferred; EPA (CFC) certification preferred.
• Valid North Carolina driver’s license required.

Responsibilities

• Install, maintain, and repair ventilation, air-conditioning, and environmental control systems.
• Ensure safe, efficient operation of HVAC equipment and refrigeration systems.
• Follow plans, blueprints, and schematic diagrams; troubleshoot equipment.
