Job summary

Atlantic Constructors is seeking a Special Projects Estimator to provide complete estimates for bids on HVAC and commercial projects. You will assemble estimates from plans and specs from start to bid day, focusing on HVAC and sheet metal.

The ideal candidate has 2+ years of trades estimating experience, knowledge of estimating software, and strong written and verbal communication. Travel may be required; a BS or AAS in Engineering or Construction Management is preferred.

Qualifications

• 2+ years' trades estimating experience in commercial and/or industrial construction projects or equivalent combination of education and experience
• 1+ years' Estimating/Pre-Construction experience. If candidate has strong knowledge of commercial HVAC equipment, ACI can train into estimating.
• Knowledge of computer/network based estimating software (i.e. Autobid, Quote Soft, TSI, Estimation, etc.)
• Advanced knowledge of estimating techniques and cost control, plus ability to interpret cost data and systems
• Understanding of construction assemblies and ability to review plans and documents

Responsibilities

• Assemble complete estimates for projects assigned, covering all scopes of work
• Solicit subcontractor and vendor quotations to ensure coverage on all scopes
• Review construction documents, instructions to bidders, scope of work and general conditions
• Distribute plans and addenda to subcontractors and vendors
• Develop rough draft scope of work for proposals
• Negotiate subcontracts and procurement of materials and equipment
• Enter estimate into job cost control program and participate in turnover meetings with operations team
• Assist in budgeting, scheduling and manpower projections
• Coordinate scope of work between in-house trades
