Job summary

Atlantic Constructors is seeking a Special Projects Estimator to prepare complete estimates for HVAC and related commercial projects. You will gather quotes, review plans, and develop bid strategies while coordinating with subcontractors and the operations team.

The role requires 2+ years in trades estimating for commercial/industrial work, proficiency with estimating software, and strong communication skills. Travel to site visits may be required.

Qualifications

• 2+ years' trades estimating experience in commercial and/or industrial construction projects or equivalent combination of education and experience
• 1+ years' Estimating/Pre-Construction experience; strong HVAC knowledge a plus, training offered by ACI
• Demonstrate knowledge and efficiency in computer/network based estimating software (Autobid, Quote Soft, TSI, Estimation)
• Advanced knowledge of estimating techniques and cost control; ability to interpret computerized cost data
• Understanding of construction assemblies
• Strong technical writing and verbal communication skills
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
• Ability to meet critical deadlines
• Adherence to company policies and procedures
• Must be available to work assigned schedules

Responsibilities

• Assemble complete estimates for assigned projects, covering various trades; focus on HVAC
• Solicit subcontractor and vendor quotes to ensure full coverage of scopes
• Review construction docs, instructions to bidders, scope of work and general conditions
• Distribute plans and addenda to sub-contractors via FTP or email
• Assist in developing bid strategies and attend pre-bid meetings/site visits
• Prepare detailed estimates by reviewing take-offs and pricing for self-performed work
• Review subcontractor/vendor quotes for compliance with plans and specs
• Develop rough draft scope of work for proposals
• Assist in negotiating subcontracts and procuring materials/equipment
• Enter estimates into job cost control system and support turnover meetings
