Job summary

Trane Technologies is seeking a Sales Application Engineer to deliver technical sales support and engineered HVAC solutions for buildings, homes, and transportation. You will work with CSO Account Managers to identify project needs, prepare proposals, and drive opportunities from concept to handoff, building long-term customer relationships through technical consultation.

The role requires a bachelor’s degree in engineering, 3+ years of relevant experience, and strong skills in HVAC systems,

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or equivalent.
• 3+ years in estimating, engineering, sales, or construction management.
• HVAC systems familiarity and controls knowledge.
• Experience developing equipment selections, quotes, and proposals.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, AutoCAD, Trane tools; strong communication.
• Analytical mindset with ability to interpret specifications and diagrams.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain relationships with CSO Account Managers to support retention and growth.
• Educate teams on product benefits, applications, and special-use solutions.
• Respond to inquiries with technical guidance and route requests appropriately.
• Develop marketing literature and support product messaging for modified equipment solutions.
• Convert leads into qualified opportunities and develop project requirements.
• Prepare take-offs, equipment selections, pricing, and integration plans.
• Prepare, review, and validate proposals with internal stakeholders.
• Support sales process and contribute to meeting sales targets.
• Coordinate with teams on project specifications and proposal development.
