Job summary

Ambient in Fort Myers, FL, seeks an Inside Sales Engineer to support day-to-day sales operations and partner with Sales Engineers. You will manage inbound inquiries, gather project data, and assist with a wide range of sales activities in a fast-paced environment.

The role requires a mechanical engineering/HVAC background, 1–3 years in HVAC sales support, and strong communication. Proficiency with HVAC tools and MS Office is expected. Competitive compensation is offered.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, HVAC, or related field.
• 1–3 years of experience in HVAC applications, technical sales, or sales support.
• Strong knowledge of HVAC systems and commercial/industrial applications.
• Familiarity with HVAC design principles, building specs and standards (ASHRAE, AHRI).
• Proficiency with HVAC selection software and Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a technical advisor and product expert throughout the HVAC sales process.
• Collaborate with Sales Engineers and customers to understand project requirements and propose solutions.
• Use selection software and tools to identify optimal HVAC systems based on site conditions.
• Prepare detailed proposals, submittals, and performance documentation.
• Deliver technical presentations and product demonstrations to customers, contractors, and consultants.
• Provide pre-sale and limited post-sale support, including product guidance and troubleshooting.
• Assist with pricing, quoting, and ensuring accurate product configurations.
• Partner with engineering and product teams to develop custom solutions when needed.
• Maintain records of customer interactions, proposals, and feedback.
• Stay current on industry trends, codes, and emerging HVAC technologies.
