Job summary

Varney, Inc. is seeking a Sheet Metal Estimator to assist in preparing accurate and competitive estimates for commercial and industrial sheet metal and HVAC projects. The role involves reviewing drawings, performing takeoffs, and sourcing vendor pricing to support bids and proposals.

Ideal candidates will understand sheet metal fabrication, ductwork installation, HVAC systems, and construction practices. Collaboration with estimating, project management, operations, and suppliers is essential to

Qualifications

• Minimum three (3) years of experience in Sheet Metal, HVAC, or related field.
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
• Proficient with estimating software and MS Office.
• Strong communication and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Review construction drawings and bid documents to determine scope.
• Perform quantity takeoffs for ductwork and components.
• Prepare estimates for labor, materials, equipment, and subcontracted work.
• Develop bills of materials and obtain vendor pricing.
• Coordinate with project teams to clarify requirements.
• Attend pre-bid meetings and site visits as needed.
