Job summary

AAF International in Washington, NC is seeking a Design Engineer II to design, develop and manufacture products from inception through production. You will create 3D CAD models using Inventor and AutoCAD, revise drawings, and generate submittals and shop packages for sheet metal and air filtration products.

Ideal candidates have 3–5 years in sheet metal design, 1–3 years Inventor experience, ECN familiarity, and an Associate Degree in Mechanical Engineering.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years sheet metal product design experience in a team-based environment.
• 1–3 years’ experience using Inventor 3D modeling software.
• Understanding of ECN processes; Vault experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Review job packages and specifications to insure product is in compliance with customer requirements.
• Participate in new product development projects.
• Generate product and part drawings using Autodesk AutoCAD & Inventor 3D modeling software or equivalent programs.
• Revise, as required, existing drawings based on customer requirements.
• Prepares manufacturing Bill of Materials utilizing ERP software.
• Prepares manufacturing instructions sheets, IOM’s and shop packages.
• Prepares purchase requisitions as required.
• Maintains document control as required under the Quality Assurance Program.
• Analyze and resolve questions and problems in the shop.
• Use established standards to select the correct parts and materials for each product.
• Contact the customer if information is needed to verify product specifications.
• Generate complex weldments and weld maps, sizing welds according to AWS requirements
