Job Title: Service Technician - Class III - V

Summary: Install, service, and repair heating, ventilating, and air conditioning systems, as well as related environmental-control systems. Utilize knowledge of heating and refrigeration theory, and pipefitting.

Location: This role is based out of the Atlanta office, serving the west Atlanta, Georgia territory.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

• This posting covers Class 3, Class 4, and Class 5 Service Technicians. Duties vary based on qualifications.

Class 3 Service Technician:

• Understanding of 5 to 100-ton unitary DX equipment, chilled water air handlers, CRAC units, Pneumatic and DDC controls.
• Demonstrate troubleshooting skills on unitary DX equipment up to 100 tons.
• Perform repairs on rooftop package equipment.
• Basic troubleshooting on air-cooled chillers.
• Diagnose refrigerant system issues using electrical schematics.
• Basic understanding of variable frequency drives and VAV systems.

Class 4 Service Technician:

• All skills listed in Class 3, plus troubleshooting and repairs on all types of air-cooled chillers, pumps, and low-pressure boilers.
• Advanced troubleshooting of air-cooled and chilled water equipment.
• Maintain and repair cooling towers.
• Proficient with variable frequency drives, starters, and low-pressure boilers.

Class 5 Service Technician:

• All skills from Classes 3 and 4, plus expertise in large chillers, large boilers, pumps, and technical support to other technicians.
• Troubleshoot, maintain, and repair large, water-cooled chillers and boilers.
• Advanced diagnosis of air distribution systems and chilled water systems.

Qualifications:

• Strong communication skills.
• Proficiency with computers and tablets.
• Problem-solving abilities in standardized situations.
• Teamwork and adaptability skills.

Required Experience, Certifications, and Education:

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Trade or technical school certification preferred.
• 4-5+ years of commercial/industrial HVAC experience, including control and refrigerant systems.
• Valid Driver’s License.
• EPA Universal Refrigerant Certification.

Physical Requirements: Ability to climb ladders, lift 50+ pounds, distinguish electrical colors, tolerate confined spaces, and work at heights in seasonal temperatures. PPE use is mandatory.
