Job summary

Service Experts is seeking an HVAC Service Technician in Rochester, NY to diagnose and service residential and light commercial HVAC systems. You will communicate with customers, promote services, and ensure customer satisfaction while working under supervision with a field supervisor or GM.

You must have a high school diploma or GED with HVAC training, EPA safety certifications, and a valid driver’s license.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED with HVAC training; 2+ years experience.
• Must possess valid licensing or certification as required by laws for the work area.
• EPA and safety certifications required.
• Skilled at servicing heating, cooling, ventilation, and related equipment.
• Proficient mechanical aptitude and ability to operate tools and equipment.
• Able to read wiring diagrams and troubleshoot electrical, refrigerant and duct systems.
• Able to balance airflow and align belts/pulleys with minimal supervision.
• Able to install basic duct fittings.
• Able to troubleshoot and repair electronic air cleaners, refrigeration, hot water, steam boiler, humidifier systems.
• Strong communication, time-management, and organizational skills.
• Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record.
• Flexible hours and on-call shifts.
• Ability to access attics, basements, crawl spaces; climb ladders.
• Ability to lift up to 75 pounds and carry up to 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Performs residential and/or light commercial service and maintenance calls under general supervision.
• Analyzes, diagnoses, and resolves customer problems professionally and timely.
• Diagnoses and services HVAC equipment and accessories.
• Inspects equipment and diagnostics to prevent breakdowns and callbacks.
• Completes routine maintenance and cleaning as required.
• Delivers and removes parts and equipment needed for service work.
• Uses handheld device to record information and completes forms; collects payment.
• Keeps dispatch informed of status and availability.
• Delivers excellent customer service and maintains high customer satisfaction.
• Promotes products and services and communicates replacement sales leads.
• Ensures company vehicles and tools are stocked and properly maintained.
• Represents the company professionally and ethically.
• Follows procedures and ensures vehicle stock is replenished.
• Performs similar duties as needed; maintains regular attendance.
