Job summary

Evergreen State HVAC is seeking a dedicated Service Technician to own every service call from dispatch to client sign-off. You will diagnose and repair furnaces, heat pumps, AC systems, and basic controls while maintaining accurate, same-day documentation in the field system.

Qualifications

• 2+ years as HVAC service technician (residential and/or light commercial) preferred.
• EPA 608 certification required/benefits
• Strong troubleshooting skills and ability to work independently in the field.
• Excellent verbal communication with homeowners, tenants, and property managers.
• Professional appearance, reliability, and discipline in following process.

Responsibilities

The Service Technician exists to protect Evergreen clients from discomfort and downtime by owning diagnostics, repairs, and maintenance on HVAC systems with “No Surprises” communication.

This is a highly client-facing, decision-driving role. You own the call from dispatch to resolution: diagnosis, options, repair, documentation, and recommendation.

This role is focused on execution, judgment, and ownership. You handle a high volume of calls with accuracy, communicate clearly about options and pricing, and help clients make smart repair/replace decisions without pressure or games.

Responsibilities

Own every service call from arrival to completed documentation and client sign-off

Diagnose and repair furnaces, heat pumps, AC, ductless systems, and basic controls

Perform preventative maintenance and safety checks per Evergreen standards

Present clear “good / better” options and pricing in plain language, aligned with “No Surprises”

Document findings, photos, recommendations, and parts in the field system on every visit

Identify and ethically enroll clients into maintenance/comfort plans when appropriate

Handle emergency and after-hours calls as part of a rotating on-call schedule

Maintain truck stock, tools, and PPE; flag recurring issues or patterns to leadership

Requirements

2+ years as an HVAC service technician (residential and/or light commercial) preferred

EPA 608 certification and valid driver’s license

Strong troubleshooting skills and comfort working independently in the field

Excellent verbal communication with homeowners, tenants, and property managers

Professional appearance, reliability, and discipline in following process

Full-time, primarily Monday through Friday, with rotating evenings/weekends and on-call coverage during peak seasons.

Because comfort issues don’t always respect business hours, urgent client needs may occasionally require support outside your normal schedule.
