Job summary

Shafer-Heating- is seeking a dedicated HVAC Service Technician in Hingham, MA. In this full-time role, you will perform residential service and maintenance calls, diagnose heating and cooling systems, and ensure customer satisfaction through excellent service.

Qualified candidates will have at least 3 years of HVAC experience, an EPA 608 certification (preferred), and a clean Massachusetts driver’s license. The compensation includes an hourly base plus performance pay, with earnings expected to range between $40 to $50 per hour.

HVAC Service Technician

A growing residential plumbing, heating, and cooling company serving the Greater Boston and South Shore area is hiring an HVAC Service Technician. You will run residential service and maintenance calls, diagnose and repair systems, and give homeowners a five-star experience. Hourly base plus performance pay of 2% of sales and 2% of completed revenue, with a realistic on-target earnings range of about $40 to $50 per hour.

Key Responsibilities

• Run residential HVAC service and maintenance calls from dispatch to close
• Diagnose and repair heating and cooling systems accurately the first time
• Present repair and replacement options based on what is right for the customer
• Maintain an average ticket around $800 to $1,000 and daily revenue of $1,500 to $1,800
• Keep callback rate under 5%
• Participate in a winter on-call rotation, roughly December through March
• Document work clearly and keep the company truck stocked and organized

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

• 3+ years of residential HVAC service experience
• EPA 608 preferred; we can help you earn it. NATE certification is a plus and a pay driver
• Strong customer-facing communication and honest recommendations
• Valid Massachusetts driver license with a clean driving record
• Must pass a pre-employment background check and drug screen
• Company service truck provided
