You will guide junior techs, oversee field projects, and help drive the business forward toward a future Service Manager role.

The role offers $38.00–$48.00 per hour with 40 hours weekly guaranteed, and $90,000–$115,000+ OTE annually, plus incentives, a company vehicle, tool allowance, and paid time off.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of verifiable residential HVAC service and installation experience.
• EPA Universal Certification required; NATE Certification strongly preferred.
• Experience leading job sites and mentoring technicians is a plus.
• Proficient with tablets/iPads for dispatching, diagnostics, and presentations.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, diagnose, repair, and perform preventative maintenance on residential HVAC systems.

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Lead HVAC Technician who takes genuine pride in their trade and is ready to take the next big step in their career. In this pivotal role, you will lead field diagnostic calls, perform high-quality residential maintenance and replacement installs, and uphold quality control across job sites. Beyond technical execution, you will serve as a mentor to junior technicians and apprentices.

This position is critical to our company’s long-term expansion: we are specifically looking for someone with the drive, organization, and leadership capacity to grow into our Service Manager over time.

Core Responsibilities

• Inspect, diagnose, repair, and perform preventative maintenance on a wide variety of residential HVAC systems across the North Shore area.


• Present clear, transparent repair vs. replacement options to homeowners on an iPad with complete honesty and zero pushy sales pressure.


• Lead and oversee installation and service projects, ensuring all work strictly meets local codes, manufacturer specifications, and Beck’s quality standards.


• Mentor and guide junior technicians, apprentices, and helpers on field best practices, safety, and troubleshooting.


• Keep your company truck clean, organized, properly stocked, and well-maintained.


• Accurately complete digital service documentation, diagnostic notes, and repair records.


• Maintain manageable, optional on-call rotation schedules while delivering prompt, professional service.

Required & Preferred Experience

• Experience: 5+ years of verifiable residential HVAC service, diagnostic troubleshooting, and installation experience working at a reputable HVAC shop.


• Certifications: EPA Universal Certification required; NATE Certification strongly preferred.


• Technical Skills: Mastery of residential heating and cooling systems, air distribution, electrical diagnostics, and control circuits.


• Technology: Comfortable navigating tablets/iPads for dispatching, diagnostics, and client option presentations.


• Driving Record: Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.


• Leadership Background: Prior experience leading job sites, training helpers, or managing quality control in the field is a major plus.
