Job summary

Comfort Systems USA, Inc. in Alabama is seeking an experienced HVAC Field Service Technician to maintain and troubleshoot commercial equipment, including RTUs, large split systems, VRF, cooling towers, chillers, and pumps.

You will operate building automation systems (Trane, Honeywell, JCI) and use service software for VRF systems, with tickets and timesheets logged on an iPad. Travel between Huntsville and Birmingham is required during peak seasons.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and troubleshoot commercial HVAC equipment including RTUs, large split systems, VRF systems, cooling towers, air cooled chillers, VFDs, pumps and motors
• Operate and navigate building automation systems (e.g. Trane, Honeywell, JCI)
• Familiar with service software for VRF systems (e.g. Mitsubishi, Daikin, Sanyo, Toshiba, Fujitsu)
• Self-motivated with limited guidance from management
• Fill out service tickets and timesheets electronically (iPad) and email them
• Travel between Huntsville and Birmingham during peak seasons

Responsibilities:

• Able to perform maintenance and detailed troubleshooting of commercial HVAC equipment including but not limited to: Packaged RTU’s, large split systems, VRF systems, cooling towers, air cooled chillers, Variable Frequency Drives, pumps & motors.
• Basic understanding, operation, and navigation of common Building Automation Systems, (i.e. Trane, Honeywell, JCI ect.)
• Familiar with different manufacture’s service software for VRF systems (i.e. Mitsubishi, Daikin, Sanyo, Toshiba, Fujitsu ect.)
• Self-motivated and able to work with limited guidance from management.
• Fill out service tickets and time sheets electronically (iPad) and send via email
• Travel as necessary during peak seasons between Huntsville & Birmingham.

Requirements:

• Minimum 5 years field service
• Ability to pass a full background screening and drug screening
• Ability to pass MVR check
• Ability to pass a physical ability test
