Job summary

Comfort Systems USA, Inc. is seeking an experienced HVAC technician to perform maintenance and detailed troubleshooting of commercial equipment, including packaged RTUs, large split systems, VRF and chillers, plus pumps and motors.

The role requires basic BAS navigation, completion of service tickets on an iPad, and periodic travel between Huntsville and Birmingham during peak seasons. Applicants must pass background, drug, MVR, and physical ability screenings.

Qualifications

• A few bullet items describing required capabilities: maintenance and troubleshooting of HVAC equipment including RTUs, VRF, chillers, pumps and motors.
• Familiarity with BAS (Trane, Honeywell, JCI, etc.) and ability to operate related software.
• Willingness to travel between Huntsville and Birmingham during peak seasons.
• Ability to complete service tickets and time sheets electronically (iPad) and email them.

Job description

Requirements

• Able to perform maintenance and detailed troubleshooting of commercial HVAC equipment including but not limited to: Packaged RTU’s, large split systems, VRF systems, cooling towers, air cooled chillers, Variable Frequency Drives, pumps & motors.


• Basic understanding, operation, and navigation of common Building Automation Systems, (i.e. Trane, Honeywell, JCI etc..)


• Familiar with different manufacture’s service software for VRF systems (i.e. Mitsubishi, Daikin, Sanyo, Toshiba, Fujitsu etc..)


• Self-motivated and able to work with limited guidance from management.


• Fill out service tickets and time sheets electronically (iPad) and send via email


• Travel may be necessary during peak seasons between Huntsville & Birmingham.

Additional Requirements

• Ability to pass a full background screening and drug screening


• Ability to pass MVR check


• Ability to pass a physical ability test
