Job summary

Johnson Controls Inc is seeking an HVAC Mechanical Service Tech Trainee (un) to join our field team. Apprentices will gain hands-on experience on HVAC mechanical equipment and controls at client sites, with certification through the Service Technical Academy (STA).

Qualifications

• Strong interpersonal communication to represent Johnson Controls to customers and partners.
• Leadership to support technicians on job sites.
• Self-motivated and able to work independently with guidance as needed.
• Commitment to safety and adherence to union training requirements.
• Valid driver’s license and willingness to join the local union.

Responsibilities

• Train and perform on HVAC mechanical equipment and controls at client sites.
• Participate in Service Technical Academy and gain certified skills.
• Develop troubleshooting skills for technical issues and customer needs.
• Provide progress updates to JCI, contractors and customers as needed.
• Meet attendance requirements for required union training in the first year.
• Provide recommendations and quotes to improve facility efficiency and potential upsell opportunities.
