Job summary

Johnson Controls offers an apprenticeship program to train on HVAC equipment and building automation. Apprentices will gain hands-on experience on client sites and participate in the Service Technical Academy (STA) for certified training, with opportunities for recognition and advancement.

You must be a member or willing to join the United Association of Journeymen and Apprentices of the Plumbing and Pipe Fitting Industry of the United States and Canada, AFL-CIO, and you will learn to diagnose

Qualifications

• Union member or willing to join the United Association of Journeymen and Apprentices of the Plumbing and Pipe Fitting Industry of the United States and Canada, AFL-CIO.
• Mechanical HVAC systems knowledge is preferred.
• Strong interpersonal skills to professionally represent Johnson Controls to customers.
• Leadership to support activities on non-complex mechanical HVAC equipment on job sites.
• Self-starter who can eventually work independently.
• Prioritize safety in all forms.
• Valid driver’s license is required.

Responsibilities

• Apprentices will be trained and will perform on HVAC mechanical equipment and controls on client sites.
• Apprentices will participate in the Service Technical Academy training to build skills and opportunities for advancement.
• Through coaching, apprentices will learn to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues and customer needs.
• Keep customers and contractors informed of job progress and issues.
• Meet attendance requirements for Union training in the first year.
• Provide recommendations to ensure facility efficiency and upsell opportunities.
• Provide quotes to support recommendations.
