Job summary

Service Experts is seeking an HVAC Technician to perform residential and light commercial diagnostic and service work in Columbia, MD. You will communicate with customers, resolve issues, and promote products and services under supervision.

Requirements include 2+ years of HVAC experience, EPA certification, valid driver’s license, and ability to handle equipment and tools. Competitive compensation with bonuses and comprehensive benefits are available.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED with additional training and 2+ years’ experience in HVAC with technical training certification required
• Must possess all valid licensing or certification as required by local laws for the geographical work area
• EPA and safety certifications required
• Skilled at servicing heating, air conditioning, and ventilation equipment and related accessories
• Proficient mechanical aptitude and ability to operate necessary tools and equipment
• Able to read wiring diagrams and troubleshoot electrical/refrigerant/duct systems on HVAC equipment
• Capable of startup, balance airflow, align belts/pulleys on systems with minimal supervision
• Able to install a basic duct fitting and repair related equipment

Responsibilities

• Works under general supervision to perform residential and/or light commercial service and maintenance calls
• Analyzes, diagnoses, and resolves customer problems in a courteous, professional, timely, and accurate manner
• Diagnoses and performs services on heating, air conditioning, ventilation, and refrigeration equipment and accessories
• Inspects equipment and performs diagnostics to prevent breakdowns
• Completes routine maintenance and equipment cleaning
• Delivers and removes parts and equipment needed for service work
• Records information on a handheld device and manages paperwork and payments
• Coordinates with dispatch for status reports and availability
• Promotes products and services and follows up on replacement sales leads
• Ensures proper use and upkeep of company property and tools
• Represents the company professionally and ethically
• Maintains vehicle stock and returns defective warranty parts
• Performs other duties as assigned and maintains reliable attendance
