Job summary

icon Mechanical in Granite City, IL, seeks an Operations Manager to lead our Service team. You will oversee daily HVAC service, maintenance, and installation operations, ensure safety, quality, and profitability, and coordinate field crews to deliver projects on time and within budget.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years of hands-on HVAC field experience, 3+ years of supervisory or management experience in mechanical contracting, and strong knowledge of HVAC systems, codes, and construction

Qualifications

• 5+ years of hands-on HVAC field experience in service and/or installation.
• 3+ years of supervisory or management experience within a mechanical contracting environment.
• Strong knowledge of HVAC systems, controls, ductwork, piping, and refrigeration systems.
• Solid understanding of mechanical codes, safety standards, and construction best practices.
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple crews, schedules, and projects simultaneously.
• Proficient in reading and interpreting plans, specifications, and submittals.
• Experience with labor productivity tracking and performance metrics.

Responsibilities

• Overseeing daily HVAC service, maintenance, and installation operations to ensure safety, quality, and profitability.
• Leading field supervisors, technicians, and dispatch to optimize scheduling, manpower, and workflow.
• Monitoring labor productivity, job costing, and margins; address inefficiencies and reducing callbacks.
• Coordinating with estimating, project management, and service teams to support successful project execution.
• Enforcing company policies, safety standards, and mechanical code compliance.
• Supporting hiring, training, and performance management of field staff.
• Serving as an escalation point for customer and jobsite issues.
• Driving operational improvements to support growth and scalability.
