Job summary

ACS Home Services in Tampa seeks a Lead HVAC Service Technician to be the technical backbone and quality authority for the team. You will handle complex repairs, mentor technicians, and lead weekly technical training, with deep mastery of Daikin Fit variable-speed systems.

About the Role

ACS Home Services is seeking aLeadHVAC Service Technicianto serve as the technical backbone and quality authority for our team. This role blends advanced field execution with hands-on technical mentorship. You will handle complex repairs, manage all customer situations with poise, elevate our technicians by providing field / phone support, and assist with weekly meetings. Critical to this role is deep technical mastery of variable-speed, communicating equipment, especially Daikin Fit systems.

Required & Preferred Experience

• HVAC Experience:5–7+ years of residential HVAC service experience.

• Daikin Fit Inverter Expertise (Non-Negotiable):Proven experience installing, commissioning, and diagnosing Daikin Fit communicating systems.Candidates must demonstrate this knowledge during the interview by answering specific technical questions (e.g., thermostat dealer edit menus, sensor diagnostics, static pressure checks, compressor speed verification).

• Certifications & Screenings:Universal EPA Certification required. Must possess a clean, insurable driving record and pass a background check and drug test.

• Technical Skillset:Strong background in low-voltage troubleshooting, refrigeration circuits, zone dampers, basic commercial equipment, and wiring diagrams.

• Tools:Must possess core diagnostic tools (vacuum pump, recovery machine, gauges, leak detector, torches).

• Logistics:Must reside within 30–45 minutes of our office at1712 E Seward St, Tampa, FL.

Core Responsibilities

• Perform expert diagnostics and repairs on advanced residential systems, focusing heavily on Daikin Fit variable-speed, communicating equipment.
• Serve as the final line of defense on quality control, ensuring jobs are completed correctly to help maintain our zero-recall standard.
• Field phone calls from technicians in the field, patiently guiding them through complex troubleshooting steps.
• Participate in and assist with leading weekly technical training meetings to build team confidence and capability.
• De-escalate challenging customer situations and resolve misdiagnoses with grace, class, and complete professionalism.
• Apply advanced technical diagnostic skills daily: superheat/subcool, low-voltage, zone boards, dampers, duct sizing, and air balancing.
• Drive key performance metrics (close rate, average ticket, total sales, completed revenue, and membership conversion) through honest, process-driven customer communication.
• Maintain a clean, organized take-home service truck and care for company and personal diagnostic tools.
• Leverage a tablet and Service Titan to streamline documentation, estimates and more.
