Job summary

Nelson & Company in Orlando, FL is seeking a Sales Engineer to blend technical HVAC knowledge with strategic account development. You will own projects from initial contact to submittals, quotes, pricing, and final selection, working with engineers, contractors, and building owners to deliver engineered solutions.

The role emphasizes consultative sales, strong technical precision, and the ability to manage multiple quotes while meeting deadlines.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical preferred).
• Minimum 3 years of successful experience in a Commercial/Applied HVAC Sales Engineering role.
• Strong organizational and communication skills.
• Demonstrated ability to manage details and meet deadlines consistently.
• Valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Build relationships with consulting engineers and mechanical contractors to get equipment specified and win projects.
• Prepare and deliver technical presentations explaining products and services to customers and prospects.
• Assist mechanical engineers and contractors with problems involving equipment and services and recommend suitable resolutions.
• Make equipment selections and develop quotes from project plans and specifications.
• Price HVAC equipment and parts accurately and in a timely manner.
• Prepare submittals and manage revisions through approval.
• Coordinate with vendors and internal team members to gather technical and pricing information.
• Manage multiple active quotes and deadlines while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.
• Stay current on product innovations, codes, and industry changes such as the refrigerant transition.
