Job summary

Hussmann is seeking a skilled HVAC/R technician to maintain, diagnose, and repair refrigeration, HVAC, and related systems in retail environments. You will work independently, develop customer relationships, and contribute to sales opportunities while keeping service documentation accurate.

Candidates should have a high school diploma or GED, with HVAC-R training preferred. A valid driver's license and willingness to work nights or weekends are expected in this role.

Qualifications

• Required: High School Diploma/GED.
• Preferred: HVAC-R Technical School Degree.
• External candidates: 7 years in the field or 5 years with Certification from a Technical School.
• Internal candidates: 3 years as a Certified Technician with completion of OJT & Skills Assessment.

Responsibilities

• Performs maintenance, diagnosis and repair of refrigeration, heating & air-conditioning systems in supermarkets, convenience stores, and cold storage facilities.
• Develops first line customer relations and identifies potential sales opportunities.
• Manage truck inventory; orders, receives, bills out and maintains parts with minimal waste.
• Complete necessary documents and electronic communication in a thorough, accurate, professional and timely manner.
• Utilize handheld devices to complete paperwork and invoicing requirements.
• Identify, troubleshoot, and size thermostatic expansion valves.
