Job summary

Hussmann Corporation seeks a skilled HVAC/R Technician to perform routine maintenance, diagnose, and repair supermarket refrigeration systems and merchandisers. You will work with a Master or Lead Technician, conducting leak checks, component replacements, and electrical diagnostics.

Responsibilities include paperwork, maintaining tool and truck inventory, and delivering excellent customer service. Weekend/evening work may be required; EPA 608 certification is preferred.

Qualifications

• Required Level: High School Diploma/GED; Preferred: HVAC-R Technical School Degree.
• 5 years in the field or 3 years with Certification from a Technical School for external candidates; Internal candidates 1 year as Qualified Technician.

Responsibilities

• Perform prescribed, routine maintenance procedures on supermarket refrigeration systems and self-contained merchandisers.
• Diagnose and repair refrigeration, heating & air-conditioning systems with direction from a Master/Lead Technician.
• Detect and repair leaks, fabricate components, and maintain proper refrigerant handling.
• Complete necessary documents and use handheld devices for invoicing and tickets.
• Maintain truck inventory and adhere to vehicle maintenance policies.
• Develop customer relations and communicate equipment issues clearly.
• Understand electrical schematics and TEV troubleshooting.
• Demonstrate knowledge of sub cooling, superheat, and system charging.
• Ensure safe handling of R290 and other hazardous materials.
