Job summary

Blackhawk Technical College seeks an Air Conditioning, Heating and Refrigeration Instructor to teach in the HVAC program. You will deliver courses, assess outcomes, and collaborate with faculty to enhance student success in a flexible learning environment.

Qualifications

• Two-year Technical Diploma or Associate's Degree and Industry recognized certification in HVAC field (e.g.: EPA 608, NATE, HVAC Excellence).
• Five (5) years or 10,000 hours of related work experience.
• Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Engineer Technology, Manufacturing Engineering, Facilities Management, Industrial Studies, Technology Education or related.
• Two (2) years or 4,000 hours of related work experience; teaching-related field may count for one year.
• Apprenticeship or licensure credentials (Professional Engineer, HVAC Qualifier, Autodesk Revit) plus five years or 10,000 hours of related work experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide instruction for Air Conditioning, Heating and Refrigeration Technician program courses as assigned.
• Engage in ongoing student learning assessment to measure program outcomes and design improvement strategies.
• Support FlexLab courses and collaborate with instructors, advisors and staff to improve student success.
• Remain current on best practices and develop curricula, assessments and lab projects using flexible teaching modalities.
• Maintain safe shop/lab environment, inventory, and equipment; manage records and reports.

Education

Two-year Technical Diploma or Associate's Degree and Industry recognized certification in HVAC field

Five years or 10,000 hours of related work experience

Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline

Two years or 4,000 hours of related work experience

Apprenticeship or licensure credentials (e.g., Wisconsin Apprenticeship, PE licensure, HVAC Qualifier, Autodesk Revit)
