Job summary

Hussmann Corporation in Charleston, SC seeks an experienced HVAC/R Technician to maintain, diagnose and repair refrigeration systems in supermarkets and cold storage facilities. You will operate with minimal supervision and develop strong customer relations while identifying potential sales opportunities.

The role requires solid HVAC/R knowledge, electrical understanding, and the ability to read schematics. Company offers hands-on training, a sign-on bonus, and a company vehicle.

Qualifications

• Minimum HS diploma or GED required.
• HVAC-R knowledge and on-site troubleshooting experience.
• External candidates: 7 years in the field or 5 years with a technical school; internal: 3 years as Certified Technician with OJT.

Responsibilities

• Performs maintenance, diagnosis and repair of refrigeration, heating and air-conditioning systems in supermarkets and cold storage.
• Operates independently with minimal supervision; develops first-line customer relations and identifies sales opportunities.
• Manages truck inventory; orders, receives, bills out and maintains parts with minimal waste; maintains company vehicle.
• Completes necessary documents and uses handheld devices for invoicing and paperwork.
• Identifies, sizes and services thermostatic expansion valves; troubleshoots complex systems and refrigerant issues.
• Serves as a technical resource to other technicians and leads PM programs.
