Job summary

Benedict Sales & Service, Inc. is seeking a Controls Technician HVAC/R to install, diagnose, and tune building automation systems and associated controls. You’ll work from installation to commissioning on commercial projects, integrating BAS with HVAC/R hardware for energy efficiency.

Requires an associate degree in HVAC/R, 3+ years of control-system experience, EPA certification, and willingness to travel to job sites. Full-time, non-exempt position with great benefits.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in HVAC/R or controls required.
• 3+ years HVAC/R experience with control systems.
• EPA Universal Certification required.
• Valid class D driver’s license; commercial insurability.
• Federal Medical Card to transport large trailers a plus.
• Ability to read complex manuals, schematics, and wiring diagrams.
• Willing to travel to job sites 100% of the time.
• Full-time, non-exempt position.

Responsibilities

• Install, configure, and program BAS, PLCs, and environmental controls.
• Diagnose and repair pneumatic, electronic, and digital control systems.
• Calibrate temperature, pressure, and humidity controls; preventive upkeep.
• Install wiring, relays, and interlocks for HVAC/R systems.
• Monitor system performance using BAS software and networks (BACnet, Modbus, N2).
• Prepare work areas, gather materials, operate tools and company vehicle.
• Collaborate with external contractors and ensure codes compliance.
• Review mechanical designs and provide control sequences for remodels/new builds.
