Job summary

Benedict Sales & Service, Inc. in Altoona, WI seeks a Controls Technician HVAC/R to install, maintain, program, diagnose, and repair complex BAS and related controls for commercial systems.

You will work independently with occasional teamwork under supervision, supporting energy efficiency and environmental control objectives. The role requires an Associate’s degree in HVAC/R and 3+ years’ experience in control systems, EPA Universal Certification, and a valid class D driver’s license.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree in HVAC/R, controls, or equivalent required.
• 3+ years in HVAC/R with specific experience in control systems required.
• EPA Universal Certification required.
• Valid class D driver’s license and commercial insurability required.
• Federal Medical Card to transport large commercial trailers a plus.

Responsibilities

• Installs, configures, and programs BAS, PLC controllers, and environmental controls.
• Diagnoses and repairs pneumatic, electronic, and digital control systems.
• Calibrates temperature, pressure, and humidity controls; performs preventive HVAC/R maintenance.
• Installs electrical wiring, relays, and interlocks for HVAC/R systems.
• Uses software to monitor system performance and BAS networking (BACnet, Modbus, N2).
• Reviews mechanical designs and provides control sequences for remodels or new builds.
• Maintains documentation and communicates progress with teams and clients.
