Job summary

Big Horn Heating and Cooling is seeking a Project Manager to support the General Manager with estimating and coordinating projects across our HVAC portfolio. This experienced role offers a path to larger responsibilities and emphasizes promoting from within whenever possible.

Responsibilities include job walks, bid package preparation, vendor quotes, and schedule coordination between field teams and subcontractors, with a strong focus on maintaining records and budgets.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Associate degree or related coursework preferred in Construction Management, Engineering Technology, Business, or related field.
• 4+ years of experience in construction, HVAC, estimating, or project coordination preferred.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel required).
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications (or willingness to learn).
• Certifications such as Certified Professional Estimator (CPE) or equivalent a plus.

Responsibilities

• Perform job walks to obtain relevant information in order to accurately estimate costs.
• Solicit and compare vendor and subcontractor quotes.
• Maintain pricing databases and historical cost records.
• Prepare bid packages and support proposal assembly.
• Track bid deadlines and submission requirements.
• Project setup (job folders, cost codes, documentation).
• Coordinate submittals, RFIs, change orders, and closeout documentation.
• Monitor job progress and support budget tracking.
• Work with the General Manager with scheduling coordination between field teams and subcontractors.
• Support procurement and material ordering.
• Maintain organized digital and physical project records.
• Serve as a liaison between estimating, field teams, vendors, and management.
• Attend pre-bid meetings and internal project handoff meetings.
• Prepare meeting notes and distribute action items.
• Assist with compliance documentation and permit tracking.
