Job Summary:F+F Mechanical is seeking a qualified and motivated individual to join a team of dedicated professionals. Project Managers at F+F Mechanical are responsible for overseeing commercial and industrial projects of various sizes and complexity from planning through completion. This includes managing budgets, schedules, field teams, subcontractors, and ensuring high-quality installation aligned with design specifications, code compliance, and company standards. Project Managers are responsible for providing leadership to a variety of projects for the organization including owner direct, equipment replacement, design-assist, and specialty type projects that require working with a team of professionals to satisfy the client’s needs and objectives. In this position, you will have a leadership role in developing practical solutions to the clients needs and working with a dedicated staff at F+F Mechanical.

Job status: Non-exempt

Reporting Structure: The Project Manager is supervised by and reports to the Project Executive.

Physical Factors: The Project Manager works in either the North Haven or the Trumbull office. Sitting or standing for long periods working on the computer or at a desk is required.

Working Conditions: The position is full-time and works an eight (8) hour day. The start time is 7:00 AM and ending time at 3:30 PM. Workdays are Monday through Friday. Occasional overtime may be required to meet the needs of the business.

• Meeting with clients and customers to understand their needs and requirements.
• On occasion work with other design professionals – engineers, architects, etc. to meet the needs of the project.
• Prepare and maintain contract / subcontractor / vendor documents.
• Project planning and coordination.
• Budget and Financial Management.
• Team and Subcontractor oversight.
• Prepare subcontracts and purchase orders. Track status of subcontracts / purchase orders, process and file accordingly.
• Lead the project close out which may include assisting with project commissioning, preparing Operations & Maintenance (O&M) Manuals, warranty letters, etc.
• Preparing the payment requisition / invoices.
• Maintain all files in the company ERP.

Knowledge and Skill Requirements:

• Critical and analytical skills.
• Attention to detail and proven ability to follow standard procedures.
• Strong computer skills including knowledge of Microsoft 365.
• Must demonstrate strong competency in working in various software’s.
• Effective communication, problem solving, and interpersonal skills.
• Field visits and site meetings required; ability to navigate construction environments
• Ability to maintain positive working relationships with individuals at all levels of the organization and with customers, suppliers, and vendors engaged in or seeking to do business with the organization.
• Strong oral and written communications skills.
• Ability to work as part of a team.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Construction Management preferred, but not required.
• 5-10 years of experience with mechanical systems.
• Experience in construction preferred, but not required.
• Strong knowledge of HVAC systems, mechanical codes, and construction best practices.
• Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, specifications, and schedules.
• Understanding of Construction Software’s (e.g., Procore, Autodesk, Bluebeam)
