Job summary

Johnson Controls seeks a seasoned project manager to oversee OOS projects from planning through financial close, ensuring timely delivery and within budget. The role requires coordinating with building management, vendors, and JCI staff, and leading permitting processes with city/state inspectors.

You will manage budgets, develop conceptual plans, and prepare proposals, while maintaining up-to-date as-built drawings and generating regular status reports.

Qualifications

• 5 years project management experience.
• Experience in facilities planning and/or construction management processes and procedures.
• Experience in estimating, budgeting, and scheduling practices.
• Knowledge of costs of new construction, escalation factors, and market trends.
• Knowledge of building codes and standards of practice.
• Knowledge of laws governing construction contracts and contracting.
• Knowledge of construction materials and methods.
• Skills in reading and interpreting blueprint drawings and specifications and ability to compare them with construction progress.
• Proactive and professional verbal and written communications skills.
• Strong accountability and a commitment to excellence and customer satisfaction.
• Organization and attention to detail.
• Ability to self-manage and coordinate multiple projects simultaneously.

Responsibilities

• Oversee OOS projects from planning through financial close.
• Develop conceptual plans and budget for Campus projects.
• Coordinate project completions with building management, vendors, and JCI staff.
• Prepare proposals and conduct meetings to facilitate project execution.
• Assist or lead project design phase with permitting, collaborating with inspectors for approvals.
• Monitor and report on all phases of project execution.
• Coordinate all parties to maintain timeline and budget.
• Collaborate in peer discussions regarding project execution in P3 structure.
• Conduct pre- and post-project meetings as needed.
• Maintain building drawings with Architect of Record and current as-builts.
• Generate monthly and annual reports related to assigned projects.
• Meet with clients regularly and review bid documentation to ensure O&M services are covered.
• Collaborate with team members for Lifecycle planning.
