Job summary

Trane Technologies, a world leader in climate solutions, seeks a Product Development Systems Engineer. You will own equipment design and component integration for commercial scroll and screw heat pumps and chiller products, including new product development, validation, and driving quality improvements.

Collaborate with teams in La Crosse, WI and Pueblo, CO, plus colleagues in Shanghai and Bangalore. The role requires onsite work Monday–Thursday with Fridays offering location flexibility.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering and at least 2 years of engineering experience.
• Experience with product design, BOMs, engineering specs, and manufacturing.
• Quality- and customer-service-oriented approach to engineering design.
• Ability to condense and organize information for quick decisions.
• Proven team player with leadership ability and collaboration skills.
• Strong written and verbal communication abilities.
• Self-starter with high energy and commitment to career.
• Ability to deliver multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Develop products for new chiller applications and expand offerings.
• Contribute to new technology and product development projects to improve function, reliability, or cost.
• Improve tools and processes for design and integration of new components in HVAC lines.
• Perform engineering analyses to verify performance and reliability.
• Plan and direct laboratory tests; collaborate with suppliers for compliant designs.
• Support or lead ad hoc engineering teams on short-duration projects.
• Collaborate across development, production, design, marketing, and suppliers.
