E2 Mechanical & Industrial Refrigeration is seeking an HVAC Estimator to join our growing team on mid- to large-scale commercial and institutional projects in Charlotte, North Carolina. You will read plans and specifications, perform accurate quantity takeoffs, solicit vendor and subcontractor pricing, and work with superintendents and project managers to ensure bid accuracy and timely submissions.

Qualifications

• 3–5+ years of HVAC estimating or related mechanical experience.
• Understanding of commercial HVAC systems.
• Familiar with State Building Codes, OSHPD, ASHRAE standards required.
• Ability to read and comprehend mechanical drawings and specifications.
• Proficient in estimating software and Microsoft Excel.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for estimating mid to large size commercial and institution HVAC projects.
• Adhere to project plans, specifications, and bid documents for all pertinent information.
• Perform accurate quantity and system take offs for relative mechanical scope.
• Solicit and qualify vendor and subcontractor pricing.
• Work with Superintendents and Project Managers to ensure bid accuracy.
• Responsible for completing bid assignments within required deadlines.
• Maintain working knowledge of HVAC and construction standards.
• Participate in pre-bid meetings and site visits as required.
• Use company estimating tools to provide consistent estimates.

HVAC PRECONSTRUCTION ESTIMATOR PERFORMANCE EXPECTATIONS

• Read all plans and specifications prior to bid submission and create accurate cost estimates.
• Identify risks and suggest ways to improve value or eliminate potential losses.
• Must be able to negotiate pricing with vendors.
• Assist project turnover to operations team after project award.
• Must be able to correctly bid jobs which come in at estimated costs.
