Job summary

gpac is seeking an experienced Mechanical HVAC Estimator to join our team in Illinois. The role involves preparing accurate and competitive estimates for commercial and industrial HVAC projects from bid documents through final proposals.

The ideal candidate will have strong knowledge of mechanical/HVAC systems, construction practices, subcontractor coordination, and project costs, with 3+ years of estimating experience.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of HVAC/mechanical estimating experience, preferably within commercial or industrial construction.
• Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, specifications, and construction documents.
• Experience with estimating software and/or construction takeoff platforms.

Responsibilities

• Review and interpret mechanical plans, specifications, drawings, and bid documents.
• Prepare detailed estimates for commercial and industrial HVAC projects.
• Perform quantity takeoffs for HVAC equipment, ductwork, piping, insulation, controls, and related materials.
• Develop accurate labor, material, equipment, subcontractor, and overall project cost estimates.
• Solicit and evaluate pricing from vendors, suppliers, and subcontractors.
• Identify scope gaps, discrepancies, exclusions, and potential project risks.
• Work closely with project managers, engineers, vendors, and subcontractors during the estimating process.

• Review and interpret mechanical plans, specifications, drawings, and bid documents.
• Prepare detailed estimates for commercial and industrial HVAC projects.
• Perform quantity takeoffs for HVAC equipment, ductwork, piping, insulation, controls, and related materials.
• Develop accurate labor, material, equipment, subcontractor, and overall project cost estimates.
• Solicit and evaluate pricing from vendors, suppliers, and subcontractors.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of HVAC/mechanical estimating experience, preferably within commercial or industrial construction.
• Strong understanding of commercial HVAC systems, including air handlers, RTUs, VRF/VRV, chillers, boilers, pumps, ductwork, and piping.
• Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, specifications, and construction documents.
• Strong understanding of HVAC construction methods, materials, and labor requirements.
• Experience with estimating software and/or construction takeoff platforms preferred.
