PRIMARY DUTY: To perform, conduct, and complete thorough preventative maintenance on heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems and equipment throughout campus facilities.
The typical hours are 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. with a half-hour lunch break and the possibility of after-hour emergency calls. Perform duties in diverse conditions including but not limited to mechanical equipment rooms with exposure to noisy operating equipment, exposure to extreme weather conditions, precarious places, accumulated precipitation on and around serviceable equipment, ceiling plenums, unpleasant odors, wet or damp environments, dimly lit equipment enclosures, etc. This position is considered essential staff. Essential staff provides services that relate directly to the health, safety, and welfare of the University, ensure continuity of key operations, and maintain and protect University properties. Should the University close for any reason, essential staff will report to work as usual.
